PDC Showcases AgeBand® at the National Liquor Law Enforcement Agency Conference
San Fernando, CA (August 23, 2006) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, will showcase its AgeBand® Age/ID Verification System during the 20th annual National Liquor Law Enforcement Agency (NLLEA) Conference from August 23–26 in Baltimore, Maryland.
The NLLEA conference brings together advocates fighting to decrease the onset of underage drinking in the US to help prevent unnecessary consequences and promote public safety. Conference attendees explore options to help prevent underage drinking and recommend calls to action for individuals and organizations concerned about improving youth’s health and safety.
PDC's commitment to enforce the minimum drinking age is evident by its continuous improvements on AgeBand, a system that automatically detects fraudulent identification. The system verifies the authenticity of driver's licenses and other IDs using special software which scans the magnetic stripe or 2-dimensional barcode of an ID and instantly prints a wristband with pertinent patron information including, "Age ID Verified 21."
"Attending conferences like NLLEA allows us to collaborate with respected individuals and organizations that are also determined to help prevent underage drinking," says Douglas Bourque, AgeBand Manager at PDC. "At PDC we believe that new technologies can significantly aid in the prevention of using unauthorized IDs to purchase alcohol by minors which can lead to devastating consequences."
The NLLEA is a non-profit association of law enforcement personnel dedicated to the enforcement of liquor laws and regulations. This year’s conference is held in conjunction with the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center's National Leadership Conference and co-sponsored by the National Center for Alcohol Law Enforcement and the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center.
