Direct Printing on Patient ID Wristbands is the most popular and most accurate method of bar coding in hospitals. PDC's computer-generated CompuBand® and Scanband® print in mere seconds through direct thermal and thermal transfer printers, ensuring a quick and easy on-line admissions process.

Direct Thermal Printers use heat to activate a heat-sensitive thermal coating to the band's surface.

Thermal Transfer Printers use heat to transfer ink from a ribbon to the band's print area.
