JCAHO 2005 National Patient Safety Goals
JCAHO released its 2005 National Patient Safety Goals , effective January 1, 2005 . Goal 1 is to "improve the accuracy of patient identification" using "at least two patient identifiers". In the related FAQ , JCAHO states that "bar coding that includes two or more person-specific identifiers (not room number) will comply with this requirement." |
