Precision Dynamics Corporation Forms Partnership with Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific to Deliver Healthcare RFID Wristband Solutions

San Fernando, CA (September 21, 2005) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, has partnered with Hewlett-Packard (HP) Asia Pacific to help implement RFID (radio frequency identification) wristband solutions in the Asia Pacific healthcare market.

Under the agreement and effective immediately, HP Asia Pacific is granted an exclusive license to offer PDC RFID Wristbands, including Smart Band^®, SuperBand^®, ScanBand^®, CompuBand^®, and Smart AgeBand^®, as part of its healthcare IT offering to hospitals in Asia Pacific. PDC will also provide sales and technical support. Designed for positive patient identification and the reduction of medical errors, the RFID system will be targeted for use in a variety of hospital applications, including OR patient ID and surgical site verification, patient registration, and medication administration.

PDC and HP Taiwan established a reseller agreement in June of 2005 and began an RFID implementation at Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan where PDC Smart Band RFID Wristbands are used in the hospital’s operating room to identify the right patient, right surgical site, right nurse, right blood, and right doctor. This additional safety check is expected to help reduce human errors and enhance patient safety.
