PDC Sponsors “Stand Down” Veterans Event in Wake County, NC

On March 24, 2011, PDC participated as a sponsor of the Stand Down in Wake County by providing 4,000 water bottles for the nearly 1,200 participants. Cathy Russos, a member of the PDC Pharmacy Group, along with her daughter Nikki, volunteered time and served breakfast and lunch to the veterans at the event. Cathy Russos points out: “The VA represents one of our largest customers so we thought this may be a good way to express to our customer the gratitude we have for the years of support and business they have provided to PDC.”

The PDC Pharmacy team looks foward to participating in future Veterans Stand Down events in North Carolina as a part of their continued efforts to give back to those who have served our country.

About Stand Down:
Stand Downs are one part of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ efforts to provide services to homeless veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment. Stand Downs are collaborative events, coordinated between local VAs, other government agencies, and community agencies who serve the homeless.
