AgeBand Provides Defensible Action Against Underage Drinking

San Fernando, CA (July 16, 2005) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, will showcase the new version of its AgeBand ™ Age/ID Verification System during the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) Conference in Washington, D.C., July 16 – 18.

The consequences of underage drinking can have devastating effects to both venue owners and patrons alike. Liquor license holders risk losing their business by selling alcohol to underage patrons or by allowing the use of fake IDs; worse yet, an underage drinker who is driving drunk from a venue can potentially end his/her and other’s lives. To help thwart the use of fraudulent IDs that lead to underage drinking, PDC introduced AgeBand.

AgeBand has been significantly enhanced to better meet the needs of businesses that serve alcohol. The system verifies the authenticity of driver’s licenses and other IDs using special software developed in conjunction with the departments of motor vehicles’ credential testing labs. The system scans the magnetic stripe or 2-dimensional barcode of an ID and instantly prints an AgeBand Wristband with pertinent patron information including, “Age ID Verified 21.”
