Precision Dynamics’ Ramona Douglass to Speak on Bar Code Solutions & Positive Patient ID at the Consorta Resource Management Conference

San Fernando, CA (October 11, 2005) – Ramona Douglass, Senior Manager Bar Code Solutions at Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, will present “Positive Patient Identification: Automating the Process from Bar Coding to RFID” at the Consorta Resource Management Conference, October 11 in Chicago, Illinois.

Douglass’ presentation will discuss current hospital bar code practices and the problems that occur in daily use. The advantages and challenges of various bar code symbologies will be distinguished, as well as which symbologies are best suited for use with patient wristbands. The presentation will emphasize the advantage of linking patient wristbands to bar coding protocols at point-of-care and how this relates to medication administration, specimen collection and transfusion verification. The presentation will conclude with an overview of the progression from bar coding to RFID in healthcare.

Ramona Douglass has been a medical sales & marketing professional for nearly 30 years. She has experience in both distribution channel sales (formerly with Scientific Products) and direct manufacturing sales (Hollister, Inc., and Precision Dynamics Corp. since 1981).
