Precision Dynamics Corporation Forms Advanced Marketing & Technology GroupSan Fernando, CA -- Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), the international leader in patient identification wristbands, has created a new organization focused on the design, development, and marketing of automatic identification technologies. PDC's President & CEO Gary E. Hutchinson, who joined the company in August of 2002, formed the Advanced Marketing & Technology Group (AMAT) to expand PDC's Auto ID solutions, which include bar code and radio frequency identification (RFID) wristband systems. Utilizing new technologies, PDC's ID systems provide improved accuracy, security, and streamlined operations. Other products under AMAT's development include key fobs, smart cards, and other credentials that employ automatic identification. "PDC has constantly been at the forefront of new technology so we can provide customers with the most innovative and reliable product solutions," said Hutchinson. "The AMAT Group will oversee every stage of development for the company's Auto ID systems, including market research, R&D, engineering, solution integration, marketing, and sales." Robin Barber, Vice President of AMAT, will manage the new department. Barber was formerly Director of North American Sales for PDC. "The quality of life and efficiency improvements created by new identification technologies make it a very exciting field to work in," said Barber. "In Healthcare, for instance, Auto ID can provide a tremendous economic value-from its impact in improving system productivity, to its importance in potentially saving lives through reduced medical errors. Both the short- and long-term benefits are remarkable." A forerunner in Auto ID technology, PDC developed the first patient bar code wristband for the healthcare market in 1984. Bar coding is now the most widely used form of auto ID in healthcare. In 2000, the company launched non-transferable Smart Band Radio Frequency ID (RFID) wristbands. Smart Band contains a microchip and antenna, which allow information to be written to and retrieved by RFID scanners. The system's wireless technology allows hospital staff to instantly check prescribed dosage, streamline account and medical data, track patient location, and much more. Data can also be read through and around bedding, clothing, and even the human body. PDC is privately held, with its international headquarters in San Fernando, California. The company introduced the first patient bar code ID wristband and radio frequency ID (RFID) wristbands. In addition to its expanding line of identification products, PDC provides premier disposable products for labor & delivery, urology, mortuaries, infirmaries, and other applications. |
