Intelli-Check Licenses Technology to Precision Dynamics Corporation for Use in AgeBand® Electronic Age/ID Verification SystemWoodbury, N.Y. (May 12, 2004) - Intelli-Check, Inc. (AMEX:IDN), a leader in advanced identification-document-verification systems, announced today that Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC) has licensed the proprietary Intelli-Check ID-CHECK® technology for use in the company's AgeBand® wristband identification system. PDC chose the Intelli-Check technology after extensive trials comparing ID-CHECK with other products on the market. Since incorporating ID-CHECK, PDC has already received significant orders for the combined system. Upon entering a bar or special event, the patron presents his or her driver license. The PDC AgeBand Electronic Age/ID Verification System uses ID-CHECK to instantly read, analyze, and verify the encoded data in magnetic stripes and barcodes on government-issue IDs from approximately 60 states and provinces in the U.S. and Canada to determine if the content and format is valid. The AgeBand system then prints the patron's name, "Age ID Verified 21," and other pertinent information from the ID on a tamper-proof AgeBand wristband. "Underage drinking is a factor in the four leading causes of death of persons aged 10 to 24: motor-vehicle crashes, unintended injuries, homicide, and suicide," said Frank Mandelbaum, chairman and chief executive officer of Intelli-Check. "Further, establishments that serve alcohol to minors risk substantial fines and criminal penalties, including potential license revocation. We are gratified that PDC has chosen to incorporate our ID-CHECK module into its AgeBand system after head-to-head comparisons with competing technologies. Ours is rapidly becoming the critical enabling technology for identification-verification systems in markets ranging from age-verification to identity-theft prevention, to homeland security." "We chose the Intelli-Check technology because it provided superior results for our customers in our market tests, providing rapid and accurate results," said Robin Barber, PDC's vice president of Advanced Marketing and Technology. "Our customers depend on the AgeBand system to provide defensible action against underage drinking, while at the same time to help improve productivity in their business. With AgeBand, waiting time at bars and concession time are reduced to a minimum because once patrons are scanned and wrist-banded, bartenders do not have to go through the time-consuming process of checking and verifying IDs - which is good for the proprietor and patron alike."
