PDC AgeBand Provides Defensible Action Against Underage Drinking

San Fernando, CA (August 18, 2005) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, will participate in the National Leadership Conference, August 18-20 in Tucson, Arizona . The conference is presented by the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center (UDETC), a project based at Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE).

Underage drinking is widespread in the United States. According to UDETC’s web site, approximately 13.2 million underage youth in the United States drink each year. Many problems result from the use of alcohol by minors, including tragic health, social and economic problems, abuse and dependence.

The sixth annual National Leadership Conference brings together advocates fighting to decrease the onset of underage drinking in the US and to prevent unnecessary consequences. Conference attendees will explore options to help prevent underage drinking and recommend calls to action for individuals and organizations concerned about improving our youth’s health and safety.

PDC is one such company that plans to continue to introduce products, like AgeBand, that help prevent the onset of underage drinking that is often caused by the use of fraudulent identification. PDC recently released the new version of its AgeBand Age/ID Verification System.

AgeBand has been significantly enhanced to better meet the needs of businesses that serve alcohol. The system verifies the authenticity of driver’s licenses and other IDs using special software developed in conjunction with the departments of motor vehicles’ credential testing labs. The system scans the magnetic stripe or 2-dimensional barcode of an ID and instantly prints an AgeBand Wristband with pertinent patron information including, “Age ID Verified 21.”
